signs from heaven

Luke 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Luke 21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Look Up! What do you see? Do you see the signs? The first coming was  announced to a few by a star. They were watching. They were ready.

When our kids were small we would occasionally make trips back to Jacksonville Florida to visit relatives. For the first part of the journey they would sleep. The bulk of the trip they were bored. We would play games like counting certain colored cars, I Spy or Twenty Questions. Even that couldn't keep boredom away completely. But when we saw the first road sign that said "Jacksonville" so many miles, they perked up. Each succeeding sign encouraged us that we were making progress on our journey. When we saw the "Welcome to Florida" sign we all rejoiced knowing that we were only a few minutes away from seeing our loved ones again, and to eating Barbeque at Sonny's Fat Boy's Barbeque.
That's sort of the way it is as we see the events that are coming upon this earth. We are not looking for anyone or anything on Earth to fix everything. Many look to science, others to religious leaders or to some personal inner light. We look for a City whose builder and maker is God.

Hebrews 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

We are looking for The Kingdom of God to come as we pray in the "Lord's Prayer" But most of all we look for the Person of The Lord Jesus Christ. The signs are multiplying.

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
