Oblivious to the Obvious

I have often gone to the refrigerator to look for something and couldn't find it only to have Dottie take one short look and point it out to me. It was there in front of my nose. That's probably the result of me being too lazy to look closely. But on a more spiritual level we often deliberately ignore or overlook the obvious.
When faced with a difficult decision we often tend to;
  • look for a way to avoid exposing ourselves to any responsibility
  • avoid any pain
  • blame others for putting us in this position
  • delay
  • focus attention elsewhere
  • offer illogical choices
  • react with anger to anyone who makes us face the logical choice
James 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
